ON THE LINE WITH GERALD LEVERT...

The founders spoke with Gerald via a teleconference from Elektra Records in New York, on Friday August 3, 2001. After some lively conversation and laughter [and boy can he laugh] the founders asked G., a few questions from the membership. Here is what G. had to say...

Question: Gerald, What do you think about being the first and only artist to have your very own sorority?

Gerald: I think it is great. It is the best. I feel like I have something over on somebody[entertainers.] It's great that you are all were able to get the record company to get behind it.

Question: When will you do a live album?

Gerald: As a matter of fact, we were discussing that last night. I would like to do one after this new album. I would like to incorporate some of the old stuff with the new, and get maybe someone like Yolanda Adams to do something with me for it.

Question: Being a father, what advice what you give to the youth?

Gerald: To have respect. I just don't see the respect factor. I don't think alot of children today have respect for their elders like when I grew up. I teach my son to have respect for grown people. I feel a child should be a child and stay in a child's place. I am old fashion that way. Children are smart and grown ups don't give them the credit. If they ask questions you should talk to them. I talk to my son about sex and everything.

Question: When you are not involved in your work or doing a concert, what do you like to do?

Gerald: Chill. I just sit at home and relax. I have my space. I don't go out much. I go out if it is related to business. But I don't go out much unless someone invites me.

Question: Had you not chosen a career in the entertainment business, what do you think would have been your chosen profession?

Gerald: Mopping floors. [Laughs] I don't know. All I wanted to do was sing. I have been blessed to do it and to be successful. But I guess if not, I would have just been a hard worker. That's something I learned from my family. I would definitely be working hard.

Question: If you had 72 hours of free time to spend and no work is involved, how would you spend it?

Gerald: [Pause] I'd spend it with some people I like. I'd go to a casino. [Laughing]

Question: Are there any plans for you to do television or movies. If so, what type of roles would you play?

Gerald: I don't have the patience for t.v. I would have to think about that one. When I did the Jamie Foxx thing, I was not that comfortable changing my character. I would definitely have to think about that.

The founders thank Gerald for taking the time to talk to them and all of the membership for their questions. Gerald is very happy about the sorority. He sends his sincere appreciation and thanks for the support given to him over the years.
